The modern and stylish Brita Marella XL kettle in white for filtering water in a larger version, uses the Brita Maxtra+ Pure Performance filter. You can keep the kettle ready on the table or place it in the fridge. The total volume of the kettle is 3.5 L and the volume of filtered water is 2 L (volume of the lower part of the kettle).
The entire volume of the upper part of the kettle (1.5 L) is filtered within 7 minutes.

How does water filtration work with Brita Maxtra+ Pure Performance filters?

Unfiltered water flows through the inlet into the filter. A fine sieve captures coarse particles - organic impurities. Subsequently, the water comes into contact with the filtration mixture itself, which primarily contains 2 components.
Resin, which as an ion exchanger reduces carbonate hardness of water (limescale) and absorbs heavy metals (lead, copper).
Activated carbon - when water comes into contact with the microparticles of activated carbon, there is a significant reduction of substances negatively affecting the taste and smell of water, especially chlorine and pesticides, which are trapped on the porous surface of the microparticles of activated carbon (Micro Carbon Pearls). An extra fine mesh at the bottom of the filter prevents the possible release of small particles of the filtration mixture into the already filtered water.
Filtering 1.5 liters of water takes approximately 7 minutes.

The filter technology of the Brita Maxtra+ Pure Performance filters is based on a truly natural technology. The filter body is made of plastic that does not contain BPA and is designed for permanent contact with water. The filtration mixture inside the filter consists of an ion exchanger in the form of resin and microparticles of activated carbon, made from coconut shells.
